Techno Button Master

Basically, I ended up in the pool and my phone was damaged (nothing showing up) So far I have it in “download mode” as I have no power button (fell off)

These are the steps to get it to power on at least (not complete)

1. Disassemble phone
2. clean all parts with some electronics cleaner (I actually used alcohol)
3. let dry
4. reassemble
5. I could get it to detect in ADB but then when I attempted to reboot it, it got stuck in download mode and then the power button broke.
6. to get past the no power button, press both volumes and insert barrery (download mode)
7. still trying more now…

Finally I have activesync for hotmail on my Android ( Nexus One )

Basically the settings are

• Username: you@hotmail.com
• Password: your hotmail password
• Server Type: Activesync (choose manual setup)
• accept certs
• Server Address: m.hotmail.com

its not working too well tho, some syncs are not doing anything. At least its a start.!

I got this app from madoco’s custom HERO rom HERE and although its a useful app there is one draw back, It seems to default to GMAIL contacts and not Exchange and there is no way to select it? So when I scan a buisiness card, it just goes to my gmail account. that sucks.

any ideas?

I got my new HTC Hero a few days ago and although its by far the best phone I have owned it was lacking what my last phone ( HTC Dream ) had, root access.. What do I want with root? lots of things and lots of options for more things then I can think of anyway thanks to this guy jackdaniels_lee on this forum (XDA DEVS)

Its nice to be able to stuff up my device if I so choose

I just got a new phone, HTC Hero (orange uk)

some good points

• Slightly slimmer and shorter
• higher angle of “chin”
• feels alot better, more solid
• UI is much richer!

Its good to see some more (better) devices being released with the Android OS, windows mobile is dead to me and iphone is far from good enough to support my tinkering nature.

After running the G1 (rooted) I was left wanting more! i installed some custom (cooked) ROMS but although they looked great, they ran not so great! finally I got a UI that looks really good and runs just as good.. now to root..
