<div id="attachment_105" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 310px"><img class="size-medium wp-image-105 " title="welcome-screen" src="http://www.buttonclicker.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/windows-7-build-7057-welcome-screen1-300x225.png" alt="welcome-screen" width="300" height="225" /><p class="wp-caption-text">A nice extended welcome, Thanks Microsoft</p></div>
<p style="text-align: left;">There is nothing different from before the power failure so probably broken file or something&#8230;</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Booted into safe mode..(f8)</p>
<ol style="text-align: left;">
<li>Cmd</li>
<li>Chkdsk c: /f</li>
<li>Yes (do it on next reboot)</li>
<li>Reboot</li>
<li>Let windows scan</li>
<li>let windows reboot</li>
<li style="text-align: left;">Fixed</li>
<li>Back to grid</li>
</ol>
<p>If that failed I would look at the event log and work my way backwards..</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">It was most likley related to this setting</p>
<div id="attachment_108" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 407px"><img class="size-full wp-image-108" title="HDD_CACHE" src="http://www.buttonclicker.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/HDD_CACHE1.PNG" alt="HDD_CACHE" width="397" height="450" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Enable for Faster Disks &amp; Data Loss</p></div>
<p>It mentions it in the help section, Basically ticking these will give you more performance but at the cost of reliable data.. in my case I am not running exchange server on this machine so there is nothing I will loose except time.. in this case, around 10minutes</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: line-through;">End</span></p>
<p>After some thoughts about this. I wonder how can such small and possibly anoying problems occur in the RTM version of Windows 7? or is it just me.. lets hope for Microsofts sake.</p>
<p>End</p>
